Description
Broom Lakes are former gravel pits that have become a nice habitat with pools and wet meadows that are interesting for many water birds and waders. When you walk around Broom Lakes you can - depending on the season - see good numbers of duck, including duplinska kozarka, kreheljc, žvižgavka, čopasta črnica, konopnica and mlakarica. Both čopasti ponirek and mali ponirek are often seen. Other birds that can be seen here include navadna čigra, mali deževnik, komatni deževnik, školjkarica, priba, rdečenogi martinec, veliki žagar, trstni strnad, rumeni strnad, rjavi škarnik, kanja and navadna postovka.
