Description
Lackford Lakes is a landscape of lakes, reeds, meadow and woodland. Facilities include cafe, car park (fee), bird hides, bird feeders, wheelchair access and toilets. Mammals include red deer, muntjac, otter, bats. Among the birds you can see are Pegasta sova, navadna postovka, pinoža, čižek, brglez, čopasti ponirek, sivka, mali ponirek, priba, kozica, 3 types of woodpecker, škrjančar, slavec, vodomec and Mokož.

About ten minutes from Bury St Edmunds on the A1101, Bury to Mildenhall road. Click on the P in the map to get directions. Lackford Lakes is free to visit and has a fully accessible visitor centre with allocated parking and toilet for disabled people. There are several marked trails. The 1.5 km blue trail is negotiable by wheelchair, with ramped access to four hides. You can book online for dawn or dusk access to hides, see the link below.
