Description

Merkinch is an area of tidal pools and mudflats, reedbeds, ponds, saltmarsh and scrub. Birds seen include zvonec, gaga, all three diver species, zimska raca, zlatouhi ponirek, njorka, povodni kos, obalna vriskarica, čižek, pinoža, veliki krivokljun, kobiličar, ribji orel and skobec.

Access

Merkinch is the NW suburb of Inverness. Follow Thornbush road/Kessock road to the terminus where parking is available. Regular bus service.
