Description
Minchinhampton and Rodborough Commons are both Sites of Special Scientific Interest. There are many paths through this charming area. In spring there are rumena pastirica, pogorelček, warblers, drevesna cipa, črnoglavi muhar, močvirska sinica, navadna postovka and skobec nesting. Migrants passing through in autumn include komatar, repaljščica, kosec, kupcar, gulls and up to 200 zlata prosenka.
Plants include various wild grasses and orchids, plus lady's smock, wild thyme and marjoram. The great blue butterfly has been reintroduced.

Access
Leave M5 at junction 13. Various turnings east between Stroud and Nailsworth give access. Rodborough is just one mile from Stroud station. Click on a P in the map to get directions to that point. The circular walks shown are each about 3 km. Motorists please note 40mph speed limit, due to the ubiquitous cattle roaming free.
