Description
Henc is the most important wetland in Kosovo. It was artificially created in the late sixties, aiming at the cultivation of fish. The wetland was created by the conflux of Magura and Vrella water flows, which are branches of Sitnica River. With the surface of 74 ha, biodiversity in the Henc wetland is considered quite rich compared to its size. It attracts many birds. Among the birds you can see in the area are Grogotovac, Plovka kašikara, Riđoglava patka, Patka njorka, Vlastelica, Belobrka čigra, Mali vranac, Vodeni bik, Čapljica, Crvena čaplja, Žuta čaplja, Gak, Senica vuga, Velika strnadica, Eja livadarka, Eja močvarica, Ševarski trstenjak and Veliki trstenjak.
