Description
The Duvenseer Moor is a broad, quiet moorland shaped by the slow infilling of post‑glacial lakes after the last Ice Age. Over the centuries the lakes silted up, peat accumulated, and by the nineteenth century the area was drained and cut for peat, leaving the lowered, open moorland that survives now. In winter the flooded areas serve as a resting and feeding area for many birds. Birds you can observe include Lisasta guska, Mali labud, Veliki labud, Šarena utva, Grogotovac, Šiljkan, Krdža, Riđoglava patka, Obična kukavica, Ždral, Vivak, Velika carska šljuka, Sprudnik ubojica, Barska šljuka, Poljska eja, Eja močvarica, Belorepan, Lastavičar, Rusi svračak, Brkata senica, Trstenjak rogožar, Mali slavuj, Zimovka, Čižak and Strnadica žutovoljka.
