Melaten is the largest cemetery of Cologne. It is a park-like cemetery with many old trees. This green and tranquil environment in the middle of the city attracts many birds. Jastreb, Utina, Šumska sova, Veliki detlić, Zelena žuna and Brgljez all breed here. Other birds you are likely to spot include Mali aleksandar, Dugokljuni puzić, Golub grivnaš, Sojka, Drozd pevač, Dugorepa senica and Crnoglava grmuša.

Melaten Friedhof is located 3 km west of the city center of Cologne. The opening hours of Melaten Friedhof are 0800 - 17.00. The cemetery is easy accessible from all sides. You can walk from the city or go there by tram. Tram lines 1 and 7, stop right in front of the cemetery, get off at Melaten tram stop (1). If you arrive by car you can park in the streets around the cemetery.
