Description
The Foix Delta is located in Cubelles, Barcelona province. In its final stretch the Foix river runs through a heavily urbanized area. During spring and autumn, the river mouth is a good place to observe passerine migratory bird species like Daurska lasta , Grmuša crvenovoljka , Crnovrata muharica , Trstenjak crvrkutić , Crvenoglavi svračak , and also shorebirds like Sprudnik pijukavac , Crvenonogi sprudnik , Krivokljuni sprudnik , or Žalar blatarić. Morski žalar is one of the most iconic species. Other interesting species that occur are Žuta čaplja , Crvena čaplja , and Barski petlovan.
The following species are present all year round: Šivačica , Svilorepi cvrčić , and Sredozemna crnoglava grmuša. Seabirds can also be observed resting or bathing in the lagoon, notably Crnoglavi galeb , Dugokljuna čigra , and Sredozemni galeb. At sea, notable species can be observed such as Balearski zovoj , Mali zovoj , Golemi zovoj , and Obična bluna.

The Foix Delta is located in the town of Cubelles, about 50 km west of Barcelona. The area can be reached by car, and it is easy to park in the Municipal Sports Centre. Press P on the map for directions to the parking. Public transport: Getting there by train is easy. The train station of Cubelles (1) is on walking distance (500m) of the Foix Delta. The circular walking route shown on the map is about 1,5 km.
