Description
Tewin Springs is actively managed by the Wildlife Trust, with a warden in an adjacent cottage. The guarantee of open water in winter attracts waders, especially Sprudnik pijukavac. The secure nature of the reserve (access by key only) has retained a largely unspoiled character (although there is active management to retain this) and the restricted access has avoided its use as open space or for dog-walking.

Access
The access is from a slip road at the north end of the reserve close to the A1(M) motorway; there is usually on-street parking available, if arriving by car. The key may be obtained from the warden who lives adjacent to the locked entrance - read and obey the posted instructions.
Within the reserve, access is by foot only, wheelchairs will have difficulty.
