Description

Merkinch is an area of tidal pools and mudflats, reedbeds, ponds, saltmarsh and scrub. Birds seen include Patka dupljašica, Gavka, all three diver species, Ledenjarka, Ušati gnjurac, Oštrokljuna njorka, Vodenkos, Morska trepteljka, Čižak, Severna zeba, Borov krstokljun, Cvrčić tršćar, Ribar and Kobac.

Merkinch is the NW suburb of Inverness. Follow Thornbush road/Kessock road to the terminus where parking is available. Regular bus service.
