Description
Nedern Brook Wetlands is an area of rough and cultivated pasture, scrub and some trees. Breeding birds such as Crvenonogi sprudnik, Žuta pliska, Siva muharica and Barska strnadica, augmented when flooded by passage waders, Mali labud, up to 1,000 Zviždara, Mala bela čaplja, Čaplja govedarka and Siva čaplja. In dry summers, persicaria, yellow rattle, willowherb and thistles abound, providing food for finches.

Access
Easy access from M48 or M4. Car parks (free) at west end of interesting Roman village of Caerwent, or at Caldicot castle. 3 small laybys on Crick to Caldicot road, opposite David Broome Equestrian Centre. Footpaths cross the area but inaccessible when flooded. Click on a P in the map to get directions to a parking.
