Description
Stodmarsh National Nature Reserve is a 241 hectares reserve created in the Stour Valley by mining subsidence which formed the lakes, extensive reedbeds and wet meadows. It is a site of International Importance under The Ramsar Convention. The nature reserve has a large variety of species. Beautiful environment. 4 bird hides. Parking and toilets.
Birds you can observe include Plovka kašikara, Riđoglava patka and Grogotovac in summer and Zviždara, Krdža and Ćubasta patka in winter, Kobac, Jastreb, Mali gnjurac, Barski petlovan, Vodeni bik, Velika bela čaplja, Eja močvarica, Brkata senica, Trstenjak rogožar and Svilorepi cvrčić.

Access
Stodmarsh National Nature Reserve, is located just outside Canterbury between Stodmarsh Village and Grove Ferry Picnic Site. Access to the site is by taking the Grove Ferry Road from the A28 Margate to Canterbury road, turning right at every junction until you enter Stodmarsh village. Turn right before the Red Lion Pub and the car park is equipped with toilets. Press P on the map for directions to the parking.
