When Walmore Common floods it is a sheltered spot for Veliki labud, Mali labud, dabbling ducks, Vivak, Zlatni vivak, Velika carska šljuka, Crnotrba sprutka, Barska šljuka and Mala šljuka. There are Kukumavka, Šumska sova and Kukuvija in the area all year round. Sylvia and leaf warbers breed. Obična travarka and Žuta pliska pass on migration. The Severn bore tidal wave can be viewed from the pub nearby.

Located north of the A48 Chepstow to Gloucester road which is a regular bus route. Park near Chaxhill primary school and follow footpath nearby to view. Further access from Lower Ley. Park at T-junction shown and walk west for 3/4 mile.
