Description
Bistraka is a small lake between the river Struma and the A3 motorway. Its a great place for Бугайчик in the summer. Other birds you can observe include Мала біла чапля, Лелека чорний, Лелека білий, Попелюх звичайний, Соловейко західний, Лунь очеретяний Рибалочка блакитний, Бджолоїдка звичайна, Ластівка берегова, Дятел сирійський and Очеретянка велика. Seasonal migration brings flocks of swallows, wagtails, and warblers, while wintering ducks and geese use the area as resting grounds. The area has also seen rarities like Чернь білоока and Кібчик червононогий.

Access
Bistraka lake is located south of the town of Blagoevgrad. It has easy access next to a road. Press P on the map for directions. You can make a 2,5 km circular walk around the lake and also walk to the dams in the Struma river.
