Description
Burg Linn is popular with history enthusiasts and families alike. It's also ideal for bird photographers, as the birds are quite accustomed to people. The park is open year-round, except during the Flachsmarkt (traditional craft market) in May, when birdwatching is not possible. The park features open meadows where you can observe Припутень, Голуб-синяк, Ворона чорна and Сорока звичайна. There are designated dog-friendly meadows in the center of the park, as well as fenced pastures for cows and horses.
The park also boasts large ponds where you can often spot Крижень, Лиска звичайна, Водяна курочка, Каргарка нільська, Чернь чубата and Лебідь-шипун. With a bit of luck you can also find Пірникоза мала (they're often found in the nearby Greiffenhostpark when they're not in Burg Linn Park), and in winter also Чирянка мала can be spotted. Чапля сіра is common.
Numerous songbird species can be found in bushes and trees, the most common being Синиця блакитна, Велика синиця, Вільшанка, Кропив’янка чорноголова, Вівчарик-ковалик, Зяблик звичайний, Щиглик звичайний, Шпак звичайний, Дрізд чорний and Дрізд співочий. When you are lucky you can spot Мухоловка сіра or Костогриз.
