Description

Falkenhagener See is a shallow, elongated lake in Falkensee. Forests, small settlements, and open spaces surround the lake, giving it a calm, suburban‑nature feel. Falkenhagener See is a glacial lake, about 44 hectares in size, roughly 2.2 km long. In the early 1990s, the lake underwent a major desilting and restoration project to prevent ecological collapse; water levels are now stabilized with inflow from the Havelkanal. The western shore features the Vogelinsel, a small island important for birds. Birds you can see around the lake include Лебідь-шипун, Гуска сіра, Чернь чубата, Попелюх звичайний, Водяна курочка, Лиска звичайна, Рибалочка блакитний, Гаїчка болотяна, Очеретянка ставкова, Ополовник звичайний, або синиця довгохвоста, Золотомушка жовточуба, Повзик звичайний, Чиж лісовий and Вівсянка очеретяна.
