Description
Cardiff Bay is good for birds all year round. Residents include Крем’яшник звичайний, Горихвістка чорна, Щеврик острівний and Крех великий. The first can be seen on the green walkways in groups, whilst the rest can be seen basking on the rocky edges.
Ластівка берегова, Ластівка міська and Серпокрилець чорний can all be seen in summer. Ластівка міська nest in ready-made boxes under the eaves of houses by the roundabout barrage entrance. Ластівка берегова nest in the walls of the bay.
Кулик-сорока can be seen on the barrage all year round, as well as Коловодник звичайний. Зеленяк звичайний is another resident around the bay. When the tide goes out, many species, such as Галагаз євразійський can be seen feeding.
Winter visitors include Мартин малий. However, check sightings before going as they tend to move around a lot. Finally, rarities include Пірникоза чорношия, Морянка and Чернь канадська.

Easy accessible from Cardiff. Plenty of parking areas available. Click on a P in the map for directions. Walking is possible from Penarth to Barrage. Walking is the best way to explore the area.
