Coll is a low lying isolated island with 130+ bird species. The reserve contains calcareous machair fields, rocky coast, dunes and intertidal zone.

Description

Coll RSPB reserve has a car park and visitor centre. Деркач лучний breed in the area. Coll and Tiree have one third of the UK population. Чечітка гірська, Лунь польовий and Підсоколик малий also breed. The island is a vital stopover and wintering area for arctic breeders such as Гуменник короткодзьобий, Greenland Гуска білолоба and Казарка білощока, Гагара полярна, skuas, Побережник морський, Крем’яшник звичайний and godwits. Буревісник малий and storm petrels offshore.

Access

Coll is reached by ferry from Oban. Delays are likely. The reserve is six miles SW of Arinagour, pass the airstrip and turn left to Totronald.
