Waders passing Fife Ness in autumn can include Коловодник звичайний, Коловодник великий, Побережник морський, Набережник палеарктичний, Коловодник лісовий, Кульон великий, Грицик малий, Кульон середній, Сивка звичайна, Сивка морська and Чайка чубата. Possibility of Мартин гренландський, Мартин полярний, Мартин рожевий, Пухівка горбатодзьоба, Подорожник лапландський or similar in winter. There is a hide below the lighthouse. From September to April one can seawatch in comfort for skuas, shearwaters, gannets, divers, auks and gulls.
In 2022 there are plans to create a shallow loch, wader scrapes, marsh etc on a brownfield site, formerly Crail Airfield. See link for details.

Access
Crail is east of Anstruther and south of St Andrews. Parking is tolerated at Crail Golf Club, seek permission at the clubhouse.
