Description
Hurworth Burn Reservoir is surrounded by farmland, pasture and woodland. Reed beds are noted on the northern shire with fen Carr. Mainly wildfowl and passerines but if water levels are low, the area can attract various passage waders. Bird you can observe include Чепура велика, Каргарка нільська, Скопа, Підсоколик великий, Очеретянка ставкова, Очеретянка лучна, Канюк звичайний, Гуменник короткодзьобий, Пірникоза велика, Крячок річковий, Горобець польовий, Гаїчка-пухляк, Гуска сіра, Лебідь-кликун, Чирянка мала and Нерозень.

Hurworth Burn Reservoir is located 3 km east of Trimdon village. Follow Hurworth lane to car park at Hurworth burn railway path. Press P on the map for directions to the car park. Allow two hours. There's a good circular trail to follow around the water running for about 1.5 miles. Map of circular route at car park.

Path from car park holds warblers, Горобець польовий, tits, hirundines and swift. Reaching reservoir wildfowl, waders and birds of prey more obvious. Winter is good for skeins of Гуменник короткодзьобий and Лебідь-кликун, Гуска білолоба, Свищ євразійський, Крижень, Гоголь зеленоголовий and Чирянка мала.
