Description

Merkinch is an area of tidal pools and mudflats, reedbeds, ponds, saltmarsh and scrub. Birds seen include Гоголь зеленоголовий, Пухівка зеленошия, all three diver species, Морянка, Пірникоза червоношия, Гагарка мала, Пронурок біловолий, Щеврик острівний, Чиж лісовий, В’юрок, Шишкар сосновий, Кобилочка-цвіркун, Скопа and Яструб малий.

Merkinch is the NW suburb of Inverness. Follow Thornbush road/Kessock road to the terminus where parking is available. Regular bus service.
