Description
Nedern Brook Wetlands is an area of rough and cultivated pasture, scrub and some trees. Breeding birds such as Коловодник звичайний, Жовта плиска, Мухоловка сіра and Вівсянка очеретяна, augmented when flooded by passage waders, Лебідь чорнодзьобий, up to 1,000 Свищ євразійський, Мала біла чапля, Чапля єгипетська and Чапля сіра. In dry summers, persicaria, yellow rattle, willowherb and thistles abound, providing food for finches.

Access
Easy access from M48 or M4. Car parks (free) at west end of interesting Roman village of Caerwent, or at Caldicot castle. 3 small laybys on Crick to Caldicot road, opposite David Broome Equestrian Centre. Footpaths cross the area but inaccessible when flooded. Click on a P in the map to get directions to a parking.
