Description
There is layby parking on the Newport iron bridge which is a good viewpoint. Look for waders, gulls and terns in autumn/winter - Сивка звичайна, Крячок малий, Сивка морська, Баранець малий, Баранець звичайний, Кульон великий, Брижач, Чайка чубата, Побережник чорногрудий, Побережник білий. Сула атлантична, shearwaters and Іпатка атлантична may be seen from the beach, or the cliffs further north, which may also have Боривітер звичайний, Клушиця and Трав'янка чорноголова. Очеретянка лучна, Очеретянка ставкова, Вівсянка очеретяна, breed in the reeds where Мала біла чапля, Пастушок and Рибалочка блакитний may also feed.

Access
The estuary and adjoining town of Newport, Pembs (not the same as the city of Newport, Gwent in east Wales) are midway between Fishguard and Cardigan, 10 miles from each, on the A487 coast road. Buses every 2 hours. Nearest trains at Fishguard. The south shore walk is 3 km there and back, the north shore and clifftop walk is 4 km.
