Description
The Mendip Hills are an excellent hiking and cycling area with several convenient car parks. Less common birds include Funda Ötleğeni on Crook Peak and Black Down; Kulaklı orman baykuşu and Çobanaldatan on Stock Hill. Raptors include Gök doðan, Kerkenez, Şahin and Kızıl Çaylak. There are greater and lesser horseshoe bats, and great crested newts in the quarry pools.

Marked on the map is an 8 km out-and-back trail to Crook Peak and an 11 km circular trail going through Compton Wood, Hazel Park, Black Moor Reserve and Cheddar Gorge.
