Description
There is layby parking on the Newport iron bridge which is a good viewpoint. Look for waders, gulls and terns in autumn/winter - Altın yağmurcun, Küçük sumru, Gümüş yağmurcun, Küçük su çulluğu, Su çulluğu, Kervançulluğu, Döşüşkenkuş, Kızkuşu, Karakarınlı kumkuşu, Ak kumkuşu. Sümsükkuþu, shearwaters and deniz papağanı may be seen from the beach, or the cliffs further north, which may also have Kerkenez, Kırmızıgagalı dağkargası and Taşkuşu. Kındıra kamışçını, Saz Kamışçını, Bataklık kirazkuşu, breed in the reeds where Küçük ak balýkçýl, Su kılavuzu and Yalıçapkını may also feed.

Access
The estuary and adjoining town of Newport, Pembs (not the same as the city of Newport, Gwent in east Wales) are midway between Fishguard and Cardigan, 10 miles from each, on the A487 coast road. Buses every 2 hours. Nearest trains at Fishguard. The south shore walk is 3 km there and back, the north shore and clifftop walk is 4 km.
