Description
The Solway Firth is an extensive and remote area of saltmarsh, mudflats, sandy coast, dunes and reedbeds attracting a wide range of wetland birds. Breeding and passage waders include Kızılbacak, Tasçeviren, Poyrazkuşu and Kervançulluğu. Winter wildfowl and seabirds include Kaşıkgaga, Çamurcun, Ötücü kuğu, Küçük Tarla Kazı, Akyanaklý kaz, Altıngöz, Pufla, and divers, grebes, and auks. Also look out for Küçük ak balýkçýl, Yalıçapkını, Tarlakuşu, Taşkuşu and Çayır incirkuşu. Otters are possible, plus seals, porpoise and dolphin offshore. At Grune Point the receding sea leaves tidal lagoons ideal for rockpooling.
