L'étang de l'Ilé is is a lake of 4 hectare that holds many breeding birds, but also is an interesting place for migrating birds.

Description

Many birds that come to L'étang de l'Ilé especially during the nesting periods. During migration periods it is also a resting area for migrating birds. Species observed among others: Common Teal, Sand Martin, Tufted Duck, Black Kite, Fieldfare, Black-headed Gull, Great Crested Grebe, Common Snipe, Northern Shoveler, Eurasian Wigeon, Mallard, Canada Goose, Great Cormorant, Great Egret, Grey Heron, Common Sandpiper, Mute Swan and many others.

Français: Le site de l'Ilé se trouve en bordure de la nationale 83, au rond-point à la sortie d'Etalle. L'étang a la superficie de 4ha. Nombreux oiseaux qui y viennent surtout pendant les périodes de nidification et une zone de repos pour les oiseaux migrateurs. Espèces observés entre autres : Common Teal Sand Martin Tufted Duck Black Kite Fieldfare Black-headed Gull Great Crested Grebe Common Snipe Gadwall , Northern Shoveler Eurasian Wigeon Mallard Canada Goose Great Cormorant Great Egret Grey Heron Common Sandpiper Mute Swan et beaucoup d'autres.

Access

The lake is located on the edge of the national road 83, at the roundabout at the exit of Etalle towards Florenville. There is parking at the entrance to the site. Access to the edges of the pond is prohibited, except between the two observatories, so as not to disturb the many birds. Click on the P on the map to get directions.

Français: Le site de l'Ilé se trouve en bordure de la nationale 83, au rond-point à la sortie d'Etalle en direction de Florenville. Il y un parking à l'entrée du site. L'accès aux bords de l'étang est interdit, sauf entre les deux observatoires, afin de ne pas déranger les nombreux oiseaux.
