Description

Ploegsteert is an old clay extraction area which has been converted to a mosaic of different marshy habitats and therefore a great location for many species of birds. Especially the extensive reedbeds in the area are great for species like Water Rail, herons, ducks and typical reed species, such as Reed Bunting and Bearded Tit. The area is a must see for Great Bittern and Black-necked Grebe.
