Romboutswerve is a meadow reserve frequented by migratory and wintering birds. Typical meadow birds also breed here such as Northern Lapwing and Black-tailed Godwit .
The area of Romboutswerve is part of a large meadow complex close to the sea. In the bumpy grassland there are also numerous drainage ditches. In this area migratory and wintering birds such as Pink-footed Goose, Greater White-fronted Goose and Eurasian Wigeon can be seen. Among the breeding birds in the area are Northern Lapwing , Black-tailed Godwit and Common Shelduck.
Train to Bruges and then Bus 43 / Bruges - Damme - Oostkerke. By car: there is free parking space on the outskirts of the little town Damme. It takes only a short walk from the parking to reach the area. So from the parking you can walk or take a bicycle.
