Description
During autumn migration the Oesterputbrug bird counting station is the ideal base for experiencing the bird migration. Its location next to the Leopold Canal, southwest of the lake Braakman, ensures that a good number of migratory birds pass by. From September to the end of October, this counting station is manned almost daily. In 2011, the very rare Gyrfalcon was seen here. To date, 197 bird species have been recorded here.

Nederlands: Trektelpost Oesterputbrug is een telpost waar vooral in het najaar de vogeltrek geregistreerd wordt. In het najaar is deze plek de ideale uitvalsbasis om de vogeltrek mee te maken. De ligging naast het Leopoldkanaal, ten zuidwesten van de Braakman zorgt ervoor dat er mooie aantallen trekvogels passeren. Van september tot eind oktober is deze telpost bijna dagelijks bemand. In 2011 werd hier de zeer zeldzame Gyrfalcon gezien. Tot op heden werden hier 197 vogelsoorten geregistreerd.

The Oesterputbrug bird counting station is located northwest of the village of Boekhoute, right on the Leopold Canal. Parking is available on the other side of the canal. Press P on the map for directions to the parking spot.
