Description

Dry pastures, wet meadows and agricultural fields exist around this northern part of the lake. More than 320 species of birds have been recorded in the area. The lake is one of the few in Bulgaria, where it is possible to observe so many species at one site. It holds for example the most important breeding populations in Bulgaria of Kentish Plover, Avocet and Black-winged Stilt.

Near the E87 there is the possibility to park the car on smaller roads and to make 2 marked walks (4.5 and 11.5 km).
