Hypersaline shallow lagoon with easy access and excellent opportunities for close view of Avocet, Kentish Plover, Broad-billed Sandpiper and other birds.
Pomorie Lake is turned into salinas and provides conditions for specific bird fauna all year round. Birds can be seen easily from the area of the Green Balkans Visitors Centre and the Salt Museum, the last one being marked with road signs. In spring and summer time it is possible to see nesting Avocet, Kentish Plover, Sandwich Tern and Little Tern and other birds. The area is very productive during the migration period, when tens of species use the place for feeding and roosting. Broad-billed Sandpiper, Marsh Sandpiper, Red-necked Phalarope, Terek Sandpiper and other wader species can be seen closely.
Follow the road signs to the Salt Museum and you will get to the place. In summer time it may be not possible to use the park site of the museum, so you can park next to the beach and walk back to the place. Next to the Salt Museum is the Pomorie Visitor Centre of Green Balkans where you can get information and advice for better birding.
