Šoderica is an artificial lake near the Drava River in northern Croatia, close to the Hungarian border.
Lake Šoderica was created by the excavation of gravel of the river Drava. Excavation is still going on in part of the lake. But most of the lake has turned into an area for recreation The turquoise green color of water, the pebbled shore, and scattered islets attract a large number of visitors in summer. But outside the summer season the lake and the surroundings are also interesting for birdwatchers with valuable habitat for wildlife. Many European Bee-eater and Sand Martin nest in the banks near the excavation. On the lake you can see ducks, Great Cormorant, Mute Swan, Common Tern and other waterbirds. Many birds are also seen on the lake in winter when there are literally hundreds of waterbirds and Mute Swan.
Lake Šoderica is part of the Regional Park Mura Drava, which is the largest protected area in Koprivnica Križevci County. Drava River is located very close to the lake, so visitors can explore both lake and Drava as well as the surrounding area.
