Description

The area is known as one of the few places in the Blåvand vicinity with fresh-water meadows and permanent, shallow waterholes. Especially in the migrating season and following rainfalls, the area is good for resting waterbirds. The area is plastered with electric fences and fence posts and is quite good for Northern Wheatear, European Stonechat, Whinchat and Pipits. Also, given the isolated bushes, the area is quite good for finding vagrants. The sea-side of Grønningen is one of the best places in Northen Europe to look for rare melanittas such as Surf Scoter, Black Scoter and White-winged Scoter, and there has been several sightings of Great Northern Diver.
