Description

Vuosaaren Kartano and Nordsjö Manor attract a variety of birds throughout the year. There's a small forest like area right next to the park that provides shelter for wildlife and the Uutela forest is on the other side of the road, so you never know what birds can visit the park. During the hot summer months, local bird enthusiasts bring water to a dent on a big rock that has proven to be a popular pool for birds like Spotted Flycatcher, Eurasian Blue Tit, Pied Flycatcher, Linnet, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Great Tit, House Sparrow, Eurasian Tree Sparrow, Common Chaffinch and Greenfinch.

The trees and bushes in the area provide food and shelter for birds like Blackcap, Willow Warbler, Common Chiffchaff, Eurasian Treecreeper and European Robin. In autumn the parks multiple oak trees attract Eurasian Jay and birders have spotted White-backed Woodpecker in the area during autumn as well. Some of the rarer bird sightings have been Black Redstart and Eurasian Nightjar.
