The Ancienne Gravière de Pagney is a former gravel pit that has gradually transformed into a natural wetland. In the middle of the lake is an island where many birds breed. The site is visited for a stopover by many bird species during migration. Birds you can observe in the area include Egyptian Goose, Whooper Swan, Ruddy Shelduck, Garganey, Northern Shoveler, Eurasian Teal, Great Crested Grebe, Common Wood Pigeon, European Turtle Dove, Common Cuckoo, Common Crane, Eurasian Curlew, Green Sandpiper, Wood Sandpiper, Whiskered Tern, Common Tern, Great Egret and Eurasian Spoonbill.
