Description

The Ballon d'Alsace is a mountain at the border of Alsace, Lorraine, and Franche-Comté. From its top, views include the Vosges, the Rhine valley, the Black Forest, and the Alps. The 2,5 km circular walk indicated on the map runs through open alpine fields bordered by forest. Among the birds you can encounter are Dotterel, Peregrine Falcon, Northern Wheatear, Common Raven, Ring Ouzel and Snow Bunting.
