Description

Thanks to its low water level, Bassin de Décantation de Cadarache developed aquatic vegetation and a beautiful reed bed. Therefore the Cadarache basin welcomes a great diversity of ducks in exceptional numbers. Among these species are Common Pochard (often several thousand individuals), Tufted Duck, Goosander, Northern Shoveler, Ferruginous Duck, Eurasian Wigeon, Gadwall, Common Teal and Eurasian Coot. The ideal time to observe the wintering birds is between December and February.
