Description

It was at the Ravoir lake, that the Osprey returned spontaneously to nest in the early 1980s. Since the first successful breeding in 1985, the population has continued to increase. Étang du Ravoir now has a fine observatory to observe the Osprey nesting. It is the only French site where one can observe the nesting of a couple of Osprey without disturbing it. From early April to the end of August, during the nesting season, there are volunteers on weekends, to welcome the public. Other birds you can see in the area are Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Black Woodpecker, Short-toed Snake Eagle, European Honey-buzzard and Great Crested Grebe.
