Description

Etang Noir is a popular wintering spot for surface-feeding ducks, and breeding area for marshland passerines. Great Reed Warbler, Reed Warbler, Sedge Warbler, Reed Bunting, Golden Oriole, Eurasian Hoopoe, Water Rail, Yellowhammer, Great Egret, Little Egret, Purple Heron, Gadwall and Garganey. Corn Crake and waders on migration.

Access

The reserve is located west of the main Bayonne-Bordeaux highway and midway between Hossegor and Souston. Click the P on the map for directions. The circular trails marked are each about 1 km.
