Description

Marais de Chizé is a restored marsh. The municipality decided to acquire a central parcel of the marsh, accessible from the centre of the village. The main objective of the restoration project is the rehabilitation of its natural functions (water retention zone, buffer zone, biodiversity refuge). Despite its modest surface area (about 2.5 ha), the marsh remains interesting for birds and bird watchers. Among the birds you can see here are Eurasian Goshawk, Black Woodpecker, Eurasian Scops Owl, Eurasian Hobby and Cetti's Warbler.
