Small buit birdrich wetland just north of the village of Gerzat. More than 150 bird species have been recorded in the area.

Description

The Marais de Lambre is a small wetland of 4 hectares consisting of several shallow ponds, reed beds and wet forest. Despite its smallness and the surrounding roads and agricultural activities the biodiversity is high. 153 species of birds have already been seen, including rare birds like Bluethroat, Great Bittern, Purple Heron, Garganey, Great Reed Warbler or the Little Bittern , which has become very rare in Auvergne.

Français: Le Marais de Lambre est petite zone humide de 4ha, recréée par la LPO depuis les années 90, est enchâsse dans les terres cultivées de la Grande Limagne. Malgré sa petitesse, la forte influence d’un contexte environnant peu favorable (routes, activités agricoles…) ; sa capacité d’accueil d’une forte et rare biodiversité est surprenante. 153 espèces d’oiseaux ont déjà été vues, dont des migrateurs rares : la Gorgebleue à miroir, le Butor étoilé, la Sarcelle d'été, le Héron pourpré, la Rousserolle turdoïde ou encore le Blongios nain, devenu exceptionnel en Auvergne.

Access

At the exit of Gerzat in the direction of Ménétrol (on the RD 420), you will see the wetland on your right. Possibility to park in the parking lot of the gas station (EDF SUEZ).
