Description

Mas de Bonnefont is a quiet area along the River Loire. The site is closely tied to the Source de Bonnefont, a mineral spring rich in iron salts that has been known since antiquity. The spring was once commercially exploited in the nineteenth century and prescribed by doctors for its supposed therapeutic qualities. Archaeological finds, including a Roman coin, suggest it was already frequented in Roman times. Along the river you can see povodni kos and vodomec. Other birds in the area include skobec and kačar.
