Description

Mount Saint-Quentin is a peak overlooking the Moselle valley and partly a protected nature reserve. The peak rises to an altitude of 360 metres. The flora and fauna of the area rich, with nearly 900 species of butterflies as well as orchids and of course birds. Among the birds you can see here are Great Spotted Woodpecker, Eurasian Green Woodpecker, European Honey-buzzard, Black Kite, Common Redstart, Goldcrest, Wood Lark, Crested Tit, Blackcap, Garden Warbler, Lesser Whitethroat and Greater Whitethroat. During migration it is also a good spot to look for migrating birds.

De par son emplacement, il a joué un rôle stratégique d’observation, de protection et de communication pour la ville de Metz située en contrebas. La faune et la flore sont très riches, avec près de 900 espèces de papillons ainsi que des orchidées.
