Description

In Aiguillon Sur Mer you find the National Nature Reserve of the Bay of Aiguillon. The Baie de l'Aiguillon is a vast natural complex, composed mainly of mudflats and salt meadows, of approximately 5,000 hectares, located downstream from the Marais Poitevin. La Pointe de l'Aiguillon is the perfect place to admire the beautiful landscape of dunes and watch migratory birds. You get a panoramic view of the Pointe d'Arçay and l'Ile de Ré. This is a very popular site to watch migrant birds. And also good for waders and terns in the summer.

Note: A large part of the area is closed for a long time due to nature restoration!
