On the cliffs around the village of Rougon you can observe different kinds of vultures all year round.

Description

In the surroundings of the village of Rougon, you will be able to see in the sky or on the cliffs of the Gorges du Verdon Griffon Vulture (introduced in the Verdon over the period 1999 – 2004); Eurasian Black Vulture (introduction from 2005); Egyptian Vulture that nest in the Verdon since 2007 and with a little luck, the Bearded Vulture that has been in the Mercantour since 1993. Of course many other birds can be seen in this area. See the birdlist below.

A Rougon, il vous sera possible d’apercevoir dans le ciel ou sur les falaises des gorges du Verdon, des vautour Fauves ( introduit dans le Verdon sur la période 1999 – 2004) ; des vautours Moines (introduction à partir de 2005) ; des vautours Percnoptères qui nichent dans le Verdon depuis 2007 et avec un peu de chance, le Gypaète barbu qui est dans le Mercantour depuis 1993.

Access

Park in the town of Rougon and take the path at the end of the village. You can also see the vultures during hikes in the Gorges du Verdon, on the GR4 trail or by walking the ridge road in the commune of Palud sur Verdon.

Français: Se garer sur la comune de Rougon et prendre le sentier a la sortie du village. Pour observer ces vautours, munissez-vous d’une paire de jumelle, traversez le village de Rougon, le belvédère proche du mur d’abeille situé face à la cage d’acclimatation des vautours vous attend. Vous pourrez également les voir lors de vos randonnées dans les gorges du Verdon, sur le sentier GR4 ou en parcourant la route des crêtes sur la commune de la Palud sur Verdon.
