Description
Eagle Gorge is an easily accessible gorge from Dedoplistsqaro. sup bielohlavý, bocian čierny and sokol sťahovavý breed on the cliffs and can easily be seen from specific watchpoints along the routes. On warm days, hadiar krátkoprstý and orol malý make regular appearances. In the forest down in the valley vlha obyčajná and kolibiarik zelenkavý can be heard in spring and summer.
The cliff walls are home to brhlík skalný, skaliar modrý and lastovička skalná. Near the parking lot strnádka čiernohlavá, strnádka záhradná and penica jarabá are heard singing or can be seen on migration. In autumn, žeriav stepný are sometimes seen migrating past the highest tops. Further along the path there is a breeding facility for wild bažant obyčajný , so a true wild bird of this species has to be encountered somewhere else.

Access
Eagle Gorge is located 130 km east of Tblisi near Dedoplistskaro in the Kakheti region of eastern Georgia. Dedoplistskaro is reachable by road from Tbilisi in about 2.5–3 hours. Parking can be done at the Eagle Gorge parking lot. Press P on the map for directions. From the parking it is a short (but straining) walk towards some watchpoints.
