Small restored part of the river Amper in the Fürstenfeldbruck urban area.
Amperstau Fürstenfeldbruck has paths that lead along both sides of the river Amper from where you can see the area well. Various water birds, especially geese and ducks, can be seen here throughout the year. In early summer Greylag Goose can be seen with numerous chicks. In a small canal west of the Amper, Water Rail can often be observed up close. The tour can be easily extended southwards along the Amper river. The Amper-valley offers beautiful landscape and more opportunities to spot birds. The meadows in the south in winter sometimes host Great Grey Shrike . Be aware, that on weekends with nice weather the area is often very crowded with passers-by. So arrive early on those days if you want to see some birds.
Parking is available at the beautiful Fürstenfeld monastery, which is also worth a visit, or at the Amperoase swimming pool. There is also a Parking further south down the Amper. You can also start your walk from there. The S-Bahn station can be reached in 15 minutes on foot.
