Description

The Bordelumer Heide with its many habitats ranging from spruce forests and little ponds to heathland, provides a home to different bird species. In the forest you can find birds such as Spotted Flycatcher, Crested Tit and Eurasian Treecreeper. The ponds and the surrounding reed are habitats for Reed Warbler, Greylag Goose and Common Kingfisher. Where the area is more open you can hear Tree Pipit sing in spring. Common Cuckoo, Yellowhammer, Lesser Redpoll and European Stonechat are also breeding in the heath areas. A Peregrine Falcon breeds near by in the radiotower. Sometimes White-tailed Eagle are flying over the area to hunt at the coastline.
