Description

Burg Linn is popular with history enthusiasts and families alike. It's also ideal for bird photographers, as the birds are quite accustomed to people. The park is open year-round, except during the Flachsmarkt (traditional craft market) in May, when birdwatching is not possible. The park features open meadows where you can observe Common Wood Pigeon, Stock Dove, Carrion Crow and Magpie. There are designated dog-friendly meadows in the center of the park, as well as fenced pastures for cows and horses.

The park also boasts large ponds where you can often spot Mallard, Eurasian Coot, Eurasian Moorhen, Egyptian Goose, Tufted Duck and Mute Swan. With a bit of luck you can also find Little Grebe (they're often found in the nearby Greiffenhostpark when they're not in Burg Linn Park), and in winter also Eurasian Teal can be spotted. Grey Heron is common.

Numerous songbird species can be found in bushes and trees, the most common being Eurasian Blue Tit, Great Tit, European Robin, Blackcap, Common Chiffchaff, Common Chaffinch, European Goldfinch, Common Starling, Blackbird and Song Thrush. When you are lucky you can spot Spotted Flycatcher or Hawfinch.
